A few interesting things of note….

Ubutu city image by Beat Machine from Flickr

So I came across this article on the Emergent Village Website… but here is a quote from an interview from Bad Pitt and Bishop Desmond Tutu. Here is the quote:

“The interview starts with Tutu explaining the African concept of ubuntu
Brad Pitt: “What is this concept of ubuntu I keep reading about?”
Tutu:Ubuntu is the essence of being human […] we say a person is a person through other persons. You can’t be a human in isolation. You are human only in relationships. […] So we say that ‘I need you to be all of who you are in order for me to be all that I am.’ Because no human being is totally self-sufficient. In fact, a self-sufficient human being is subhuman. […] If you want to be human, we are not going to be able to be human in isolation. It will be that we are human together.””

What are your thoughts on Ubutu? Sounds kind of cool to me!

OK one other thought from my friend Aaron Klienfelter! What do you think about this? Especially when it comes to Th3 Waters?

Don’t know about that but I do know that Ubuntu is a great Linux distribution - you should try it! You can get the Christian version at whatwouldjesusdownload.com

The Mac is not a problem as Ubuntu can be loaded on a mac as well. I have one of those too!! I am planning on doing Eliseo’s as soon as I catch him out of the office lol

I totally agree with the comment. When we disconnect from God, then we begin to disconnect with others. No longer are they our brothers and sisters, but they are only “others” and exist only as distant non human people. This is also the essence of the speaker at the Lay Leadership conference–Ray Buckley, the Indian storyteller.
